Resistance: Burning Skies is the first first-person shooter game to be released for the PlayStation Vita. It was developed by Nihilistic Software and to be published by Sony Computer Entertainment It was formally announced on August 17, 2011 at GamesCom and will be partially controlled by touch-screen. Players control Tom Riley, a firefighter who fights against the Chimera during their invasion of the United States.
Resistance: Burning Skies received mediocre reviews upon release. Critics panned it for its slow, short, and not motivational plot. It was also criticized for average graphics. However, it was praised for its engaging multiplayer.
The game had a problem with the multiplayer waiting room, which resulted in the player often not getting a match from the server for several minutes. The issue was fixed in a patch subsequently released from Nihilistic.
